Created before the Covid-19 outbreak, this strangely topical song by the Chicago postpunk quartet from their new album Auto-Pain, has a fabulously sharp, driving guitar and vocal energy reminiscent of The Cure, New Order and Pavement. The band, contemporaries of Omni and Rolling Blackouts C.F, is comprised of singer and guitarist Nic Gohl, guitarist Mike Clawson, drummer Shiraz Bhatti and bassist Drew McBride. The new album is out on New York label Fire Talk Records. More of their work can be found here.
This heat
Don't you want it?
Another, Another, Another, Another
I feel sick
So tired
So sick
So sick …
I've been bound
I've been buried
Because
You're crossing a line
You're crossing a line …
This heat
Don't you want it?
Another, Another, Another, Another
I feel sick
So tired
So sick
So sick …
I've been bound
I've been buried
This heat
Don't you need it?
Another, Another, Another, Another
I feel good
But, Ive had better
Because
You're crossing a line
You're crossing a line …
Well you feel so sick that you broke the alarm
Because you bottle it in
You bottle it in
'Cause you're locked in a suit
Fever machine
Come back to me
Come back to me
Now listen.
