After yesterday’s number by Bob Vylan, another self-addressing mental and physical health issues – drinking, smoking and eating badly and FOMO, by the vibrant post-punk indie band in a title inspired by the location of their studio near the river Humber, as well as being something of a tribute to cult Hull band The Red Guitars. It is taken from their forthcoming album North East Coastal Town, out on Afghan Moon / The Liquid Label.
I lie awake at night
And angst about my phone tariff
I think about Lorraine
The lady on phone
Do you feel your package suits you?
I don’t feel anything at all
I slept in late today
And yes I slept in yesterday
I think I’m spending far too much
On fairly average takeaways
Do you feel you’ve got a problem?
I don’t feel anything at all
Don’t go to Big Moon Lake they said
It’ll only blow your mind
Come to the Yorkshire Dales instead
You know it’s half the price
I’m freaking out
I'm freaking out
I waste a lot of time
Worried that it’s running out
I buy a lot of stuff
That really I could do without
I’m drinking quite a lot
And smoking whilst the weathers hot
Although I’ve got too many things
I dream of what I haven’t got
Don’t swim at Big Moon Lake my friend
You will only get to deep
Just swim in your despair again
The membership is cheap
I’m freaking out
I’m freaking out
