A bright, breezy, but also anxiety-themed number inspired by the perspective of a family pet and owner, new from the Chicago indie rock band, heralding their upcoming album, Singin’ to an Empty Chair, due out on 6 February via New West Records. The song, explains vocalist /guitarist Julia Steiner, was written with inspiration from a family dog belonging to guitarist Dave Sagan. “Whenever Dave’s mom leaves the room, oh man, his whole world just falls apart,” she explains. “You can see it in his face. I think a lot of us can relate to that sort of anxious attachment style.” The accompanying video, humorously instead features a go-anywhere pet goldfish. Anywhere follows a previous single from the album, Light Night Mountains All That. To explore and enjoy more by Ratboys, see also the other embedded links below.
Oh, I know it's bad
But I can't help my panic attack
Making sense of what is out there
I don't have what it takes to bounce back, yeah
When you left me on the porch
I felt like I was gonna die
So I guess I'll pace the floor
I'm shaking, whining, wonder why
I can't relax now
I can't you're gone
But when you're back
I'm going anywhere
That you're going
I'm going anywhere
That you're going
I'm going anywhere
That you're going
I'll go too, take me with you
I would love to be your shadow
Living in my perfect life
But some nights it's total darknеss
Deep breaths it's fine, it's fine, it's finе
I can't relax, no
I'm here, you're gone
But now, you're back
So, I'm going anywhere
That you're going
I'm going anywhere
That you're going
I'm going anywhere
That you're going
I'll go too, take me with you
