A fabulous new version of the Jim Steinman-penned 1983 Bonnie Tyler power pop hit, arranged by Marcello Puppini in an entirely different style for her close harmony swing-jazz trio and band, part of their 20th anniversary celebrations and album, The Birthday Party, out now on Millionaire Records. A great cover version brings something new to a familiar song, and this certainly achieves this with style, panache and originality. The album contains a mixture of covers, but also perkily entertaining originals including Hey Sister and Postcards From The Road, which wittily reflect on their band history and touring experiences.
The Puppini Sisters began as a tribute The Andrews Sisters, but have taken that 1940s-era genre to many new and inspiring musical places. To explore and enjoy more by them, including he rest of the album, see also the other embedded playlist links below. They are also currently on tour - see more details on their website to book tickets or buy records.
