After a series of striking singles and EPs, a debut LP of cleverly nuanced experimental pop exploring diametric forces of self and relationships by the London-based artist born as Frank Belcourt, from Cortes Island, BC, Canada, co-produced by Dan Carey and Jamie Neville. That tension is encapsulated in the titular word - a fusion of never and everything, kicking off with the bright, breezy, optimistic, imploring but also a little edgy, Stay With Me!, the intimate rumbling, noodling Sugar Rush, the shoegazey Renegade, and More - all with a soft, thudding, insistent bass line, warm guitars and Tiberius B varying timbre and tone of voice. These four songs are instant standouts, but there’s intricate, sensitive, exploratory detail, such as the repressed anger and explicit Begging, the bouncy, bright, beats-rich, but double-edged title track (“Why do you want to know me forever, let’s say no to being together”), before three quieter tracks and the electro-pop closer, with sighing, gliding keyboards and catchy whistle chorus, Immaculate. Engaging, candid, finely crafted, with a light touch and full of nuanced emotions - a strong debut. Out on Zelig Records/ Sony.
