Following their debut album Tripla out earlier this year, Miki Berenyi on (originally from Lush), Kevin McKillop (Moose) and Oliver Cherer (Gilroy Mere, Aircooled) return with gently luxuriant, indie-dream-pop “about the spaces between places where interesting things can happen”, out on Bella Union. As Cherer further explains: “The scenario is borrowed from Erskine Childers’ novel The Riddle of the Sands, but really it’s about being lost, stranded, unmotivated and bored, and what a potentially fertile or dangerous place that can be.”

Oh, me and my dark doldrum days
Not a breath of wind on my old face
And these, the devil’s hands
The riddles in
Sand and mud in the flood, in the fog
Where the tide turns its tricks and returns
In and out adding in, silently
Once again
Neither fish nor fowl, nor even meat
In the place where sea and river meet
Colourless and water grey
Here’s my place
Sand and mud in the flood, in the fog
Where the tide turns its tricks and returns
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh, it turns
And returns
Sand and mud in the flood, in the fog
Where the tide turns its tricks and returns
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh it turns
How it turns and returns evermore
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh it turns
How it turns and returns evermore
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh it turns
How it turns and returns evermore
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh it turns
How it turns and returns evermore
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh it turns
How it turns and returns evermore
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh it turns
How it turns and returns evermore
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh it turns
How it turns and returns evermore
In and out adding in, silently
Once again and it turns, oh it turns
How it turns
And returns, oh, it turns
How it turns and returns
