Slow, simmering, mesmeric, intimate, gentle, experimental dream-pop by the Oakland, California artist, heralding her upcoming new album Kiss From The Balcony, out on 18 July via Carpark Records. Madeline describes the songs in this way: ““You ever start to dread someone instead of love them? What a nauseating feeling. This is about trust landsliding into mistrust. I’ve spent the past few years really learning to trust my own mind, however—rather than others’. I like that the chorus sounds melodically hopeful, which I am. But the verses are intentionally dark and dramatic – it feels like a reflection of the psychic journey I’ve been on.”

When you call, I feel dead
ringin
slow connection
undertones
So, the camera caught me
blink-blinkin
Shh! I’m thinkin
Semitones
Over and over and over
I tried to lean on your mind
You know what you did
Some big feelings
Trying to make it home
Trying to make it right
Over and over and over
You can’t take the communion
Screamin
One eye on me, baby, one eye on the bed
Even wild minds can’t bring you back dreamin’
But I know that you like to hear your name in a crowd
Over and over and over
What’s the harm in
Trying to lean on your mind?
You know what you did
Some big feelings
Trying to make it home
Trying to make it right
So what if I tried to lean on my mind?
I know what I did
Some big feelings
Don’t have to come back home
They won’t make things right
