“Worry - a God, invisible but omnipotent. It steals the bloom from the cheek and lightness from the pulse.” – Benjamin Disraeli
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” – M. Proust
Had a lovely time this weekend working slowly through the nominations. Shortlist was approaching 50 and so I hope the lists below do some justice to your efforts.
Thanks to all who nominated. In particular, Nicko and Banazir Galbasi, who sent me down some fascinating rabbit holes, with some beautiful music that I would never have found without their guidance. Inevitably, drawn back to the songs of our parents and grandparents for the playlists, but hopefully something in there for all to enjoy.
Am so very happy that this amazing bar is still here after more than 10 years, due in no small part to the efforts of our fabby Landlord (who makes both lists this week) and to Marco and his helpers. Comfort is needed in these times.
Hope to see you all on Thursday, Armageddon permitting.
