A pulsating fusion of beats, orchestral strings and the Bristol trip-hop pioneer’s distinctive, deep, croaky voice, with an emotional reference to his daughter Mina Topley-Bird (1995–2019), and heralding his first solo album for six years, Different When It’s Silent, out on 17 June via False Idols. Polish singer Marta Złakowska joins him here on mellow backing vocals, the only female voice on the album. Last year Tricky collaborated with Marta on her album Out The Way.
